Wow, what an assembly!!!!!!!!
by TooBad TooSad ini attended two days of the dc.
the only three points that i took home with me is that the end is near, higher education is a no no, and that the brothers have a problem with pornography.
i was in amazement at the number of witnesses that take notes as fast as the speaker is talking.

Time is their enemy
by LDH intick, tick, tick.. the governing body is dying one by one, faster now.. young people who thought they would never see themselves getting old now take meds for cholesterol, alzheimers, diabetes, blood pressure.. the end isn't here.. tick, tick, tick.. kids who walked away from the wt after being warned that they would die like a dog in the streets instead are very successful young people with real jobs, families, and assets.. empty threats stop having an effect.
apathy sets in.
automatons attend the meetings.

Assembly Talks
by TooBad TooSad innow that we have all been enlightened with the outlines of two of this summers assembly talks we need to make copies and spread them around to our witness friends.
they will probably assume that this must be apostate material.
it really is amazing how we on the board know things about the org before those in the org do.

the hair dresser, doctors, plumbers, neighbors, sales clerks, door to door sales people.

False hope and false expectations
by TooBad TooSad ini have been feeling alot of anger the last couple of years as i reflect on my past life as being a jw since the 1960's.
i often complain to my wife, who is still active but is wearing down little by little, that i am so sick and tired of hearing every meeting how close the end is.
i tell her that maybe i should not worry about a retirement plan for her and i and why should i worry as my health and strength are beginning to ebb away.

A 1975 story
by TooBad TooSad inwhile i was in high school in the mid 60's i was told that the end was so near that i would not get to graduate from high school so i should not be concerned about being drafted due to the war in vietnam.
well i got drafted but did not pass my physical due to a medical problem.. i then considered go to school in the late 60's to enter the medical field.
i was encouraged by the elders not to do this because the end is so near and why get schooling for a profession that you will not need in a few years?

Why would any one want to be a JW?
by TooBad TooSad ini have often thought about this and now know the answer.
it by use of a simple sales technique.
the only way on earth to influence other people to talk about what they want and show them how to get it.
